Joel R. Schechet, M.D.

Pain Medicince

Joel R. Schechet, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology with sub-specialty Certification in Pain Management. His practice is limited to back, neck and spine related pain.

His practice includes several nerve block techniques, as well as medication, in the management of chronic an acute pain, often in conjunction with our physical medicine and rehabilitation, and spine surgeon specialists.

A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dr. Schechet completed his Surgical Internship at the White Memorial/Loma Linda Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He then completed his Residency in Anesthesiology at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and served a Pain Management Fellowship at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

Dr. Schechet has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago with the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Chicago Illinois. He is a former member of the Air Force Reserves, Major, and was based at Selfridge Air Force Base.

He is on staff at St. John Oakland General Hospital.
